Extraordinary cottages just for two - Yorkshire Hideaways

Bewerley Hall Cottage

Spent 3 nights in this lovely cottage. On arrival, we were greeted with a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge, beers and home made cake, which was a lovely little touch by the owners. Communication from Nigel was excellent and he even rang me on the morning of our arrival to say the cottage was ready a few hours earlier than the 3pm check in.

The cottage is lovely. It’s dark in the kitchen and lounge, but that’s not a problem when you want to snuggle up in front of the log burner in the evening. There is a nice little room at the back of the cottage (we called it the breakfast room). It looks out on to the fields and has lots of light. We enjoyed watching the view with the patio doors open while eating breakfast. The cottage has everything you need. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has a lovely big shower.

The location of the cottage is superb. It’s just a short 10 minute walk in to the main area of Pateley Bridge where there are a couple of nice real ale pubs to sit inside or out. We met some really friendly locals while out and about too.

There are plenty of proper walks you can do from Pateley Bridge that has great views of the Yorkshire Dales. There is a folder in the cottage with all the information needed for the different walks that can be done. We stopped off at Harefield Hall for a cold pint on the way back from a long walk, which has a lovely outdoor seating area.

Make sure to pay a visit to the Nidderdale Museum which is just off the high street. There are lots of rooms with hundreds of artefacts to look at it, plus it’s only a couple of quid entry fee.

I’d love to visit Pateley Bridge again and explore more of the beautiful area. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this lovely cottage to anyone.
Beautiful, cosy cottage
